Anyone else done the ladder predictor lately?
I have spent hours and hours on it, playing out all sorts of different scenarios and it doesnt seem to matter what i do, who plays home finals and what not, it always comes out with the Hawks as Premiers.
Given that the "non-corrupt" AFL wont want no prelims in Melbourne i think we will find our way to the top 2. Our current form will get us there anyway but im sure the AFL will have our back if we go off the rails a little

What will happen if freo and wc stay top 2?
Will there be two games at Patersons? Or will they schedule one to Melbourne?

Hopefully the AFL punish Fremantle for playing dead boring, scrum like, disgusting football.

2 games in WA. AFL no longer has an agreement that a prelim or any finals (except GF) has to be played at the MCG.

Not true - as far as I know they need to play at least 10 finals excluding the grand final every 5 years. They have had 13 finals there in the last 3 years alone though, so they will be fine this year, even if somehow no finals get played at the mcg

Incorrect. Think you'll find that's no longer the case and has not been for some time.

A couple of links I found. Can't find anything to suggest that the deal isn't in place but if you have anything im all ears

Mcg website still stipulates a minimum number of finals

http://www.mcg.org.au/About-Us/Tenant-Clubs

AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL
The MCC has a long-term agreement with the Australian Football League (AFL) to schedule a minimum of 45 home and away matches annually, plus a minimum number of finals matches, including the grand final.

Wiki
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFL_finals_system

The AFL's contract with the Melbourne Cricket Club requires that at least ten finals matches (excluding Grand Finals) are played at the MCG every five years. This means an average of two finals must be played at the venue per year, plus each Grand Final. This is not normally expected to be a problem, but in the event that the non-Victorian clubs dominate the competition, the AFL would be forced to schedule a non-Victorian team's home match at the MCG to reach this quota.

http://www.worldofwookie.com/aflbusiness/?page_id=1318

The 2009 Annual Report congratulates the subcommittee including Eddie McGuire, Greg Swann, David Smorgon, Greg Westaway and Steven Wright on the negotiations, during which it was revealed that Victorian clubs were between 5 and 7 million worse off than clubs in other cities who were receiving up to 70% back, where clubs in Melbourne were receiving 30%.

The Deal sees the MCG guarantee returns of at least $100,000 to home clubs, and in return the league extended its Grand Final agreement to 2037, and will schedule 10 of the top 12 drawing home and away matches at the MCG. It will also see the AFL pay the MCC 5 million dollars per year until 2034 for the Northern Stand development (up from the originally proposed 4 million per year)

The current AFL contract at the stadium runs until 2037, and includes the following -

Football and Grand Final remain at the MCG until 2037.
AFL clubs recieve $100,000 per home game at the MCG for the next ten years (from 2009).
Ten of the best 12 home and away games must be scheduled at the MCG
The AFL and its clubs recieve 68.9% of all MCG revenue derived from football.
45 home and away matches every year contracted at the MCG
All preliminary finals in Victoria must be played at the MCG
ten finals must be played at the MCG over 5 years. They can be banked from year to year, but ten must be played over 5 years.
The AFL must make the MCG available to other sporting events on a limited basis.
Home clubs at the MCG recieve 41% of match revenue (as opposed to 36% at Etihad)

Yes it feels like that at the moment. They first of give a statement about why Shultz got off then now come back and said we were wrong. Turns out painting yourself into a corner wasnt a good idea.

Who knew?

If Schulz took 12 marks, kicked 6 goals & was the difference V Collingwood, do you think Mark Evans would've still come out & said what he did?
