Serious hate the pricks but thats a fair effort membership wise considering where they were a few years back. For the clubs sake hopefully the fans stick around when their next barren patch arrives in the future

Excellent work by the club and hopefully this sets us up for a "profitable" year ahead.

Are they going to make any $ from these numbers though? Unlike 2014?

Depends on when the state gov decide to bend over the sanfl and make them take it. My word is won't be too long.

Yeah, it's about time the SANFL gave some money to Port.

It's not like Port have ever propped up the SANFL competition of course. ..

Port have NEVER been profitable ... NEVER.

Without Pickard and Bianco in the early days you wouldn't have made it far enough for the SANFL to finally prop you up before having to cut you loose so as to not bring them down as well.

And when that happens the SANFL can charge Port $$$$$$ to play in the comp or hopefully kick them out

The state government can then kick them off the sma. The afl can stop them being the controlling body of football in sa. The could tell them to get lost altogether and start your own game. How long you think the sanfl would last

Jesus heard it all now. If the AFL did that to the SANFL the backlash from South Australia and dare I say it Western Australia would be enourmous considering both states hold their state leagues in high regard and all 4 clubs are top 10 in the league when it comes to memberships.

Seen a lot more common sence governing since McLaughlin took over and not the arrogant pig headed approach under Vlad and if he didn't think of something like this then I highly doubt the current governing body would go down that path.

I think thats unlikely as there has been some talk about a revised stadium deal being done.

I think the AFL's big card is money.

Who said destroy SA football? Hand the u/18 to the colleges, the kids already play college football over SANFL as it is. Pump some money into the Amateur league and let that get stronger. The only thing that will be gone is a second rate league comp. More money for the clubs, which means a healthy SA football. You think i'm delusional, SA footy isn't all about the SANFL Dedja

Hand U18's to colleges? So what do you do to Public School kids who play and the kids from the Country? Not all schools can fund teams and if you are an absolute gun 17 year old but your School is absolutely hopeless how does that make you appealing compared to playing SANFL and surrounding yourself with tremendous tallent and getting the best coaching available to better your game?
