IMO any player that is a regular in a teams best 22 would on average get near 400k per year, its not that much.
I think if Port had Goldsack it would free up Westhoff to remain as a key forward target for 95% of the game.
Would be a good pick up for Port especially at that price

Agreed. He'd probably be a $300k player at Collingwood, you want him to come to your club, you'll have to pay him more.

Playing as the third forward, along with the defensive pressure he applies, seems like someone Port should really go after.

Looks as though we are looking to bring in Goldsack, and send O'Shea to St.Kilda.

With Carlile, Trengove, Hombsch, Jonas, Impey and Pittard in the side and Clurey unable to fit in with Logan, Heath, Stevenson it means O'Shea is on the fringe as evidenced by his omission this week.

We may see westhoff spend more time forward next season with the evolution of hombsch into that 3rd tall down back. Agree though- surely there is more in the market for $1.2m over 3!

Waste of time.

I'm scratching my head at it too, but then again 10 months ago I was asking why we even bothered with Matt White

It begs the question why we re-signed Paul Stewart if we are looking to sign Goldsack??

Surely 1.2m over 3 could be better spent to fill a positional need?

True, but $1.2 for 3 years won't get you a 6'6" monster. ( If there is even one on the market )

BTW, I agree that Stewy is unlucky to not be in the side more.

I have a feeling Stewart may get traded yet, especially if they sign Goldsack

We've been absolutely smashed all over the ground the key one on ones we haven't even broke even in any of them.

Sandi killed Lobbe, Eberts skills wow, Polec looked scared, Dawson beat Schultz although he did kick a few, Carlile played his worst game I've ever seen him play, Neade was shocking.

Grey was very good, Cornes was good Hill, Boak worked hard on Crawley, Hartlet worked hard as did Wines who was also very sore and Moore was ok.

Just heard Schultz kicked 5  I thought his been beaten.

No doubt someone will say it was only 8 points but the late goals were in a bit of junk time with a few key Freo blokes off the ground especially Sandi....

On to the tigers next week now I've calmed down a bit......

Agreed with that.

Gray @ HF and Boak on the pine seems about right.

Its really hard to see Boak getting a mid spot ahead of Selwood, Kennedy, GAJ, and Rockliff.

I reckon even Pendlebury will just get a spot on the interchange this year.

Who gives a stuff who eats who's words. Neither will be premiership players in 2014 unless a miracle happens.

Why? At the time Boak was right, the Tigers were 5-12 and he hoped Chaplin was enjoying his year.

It has nothing to do with the context of this game as it was accurate at the time.
