I think he has been paddling for most of 2011 and now looks to be out paced in 2012. I would have dearly loved a Rutten in Ports back half over the last 4 years, a very good full back he has been.

Certainly didnt help with him missing most of the pre-season.

Agree the days of the big strong monster backs is dying very quickly.

There isnt as many match ups thats suit a Rutten type these days. Even when there is a match up thats suits there generally youngish big lads who can run all day and play multiple different positions like Buddy Franklin/Pavlich. Coaches have changed this as well with the sub rule and multiple interchanges, if Rutten is on top of his opponent the modern day coach isnt afraid to send their gun big forward to the bench and search for the mismatch on him.

I heard it mentioned on the radio call of the MCG game yesterday that some Dees' fans were asked to take down anti-scully banners. Seems as though the thought police were out in force

Was explained on SEN this morning. 1 banner was confiscated because it contained swear words and a few were confiscated due to being oversized.

During the game they showed footage of Security with one of the Melbourne supporters who appeared to have Cash $$ pinned to his clothes .. Commentators seemed to think it wasn't safe for a person to have that much visible cash lol
