Port v Roos

Talk on the national game

Ports crowds a comparable with those of North Melbourne and Melbourne's.
Demitriou said that you had to "earn" a Friday night game, while it never was the case but apparently is the case now, I'm still having trouble what the f¥<£ Melbourne has done to earn one either, apart from some successful tanking.

Wasn't referring to NM re Friday night games, we all know they were hijacked by Collingwood and the AFL.
If you compare Melbourne, North Melbourne and probably Western Bulldogs attendances they are often similar to those of Ports, however it's important to compare them when they are playing non Victorian clubs so it's an even comparison. The AFL don't seem to care to accept this but sweep it under the carpet.

Enjoy your win Port lads. It was thoroughly deserved......I still hate you though. ;)

I agree, they've copped a flogging in all circles so should rightly enjoy a gutsy win .. Good thing Stewart didn't take another step or two

great win, but we need to follow it up again this week against the Suns.

Had a good Showdown win last year, then undid the morale and confidence gained by losing to the Suns the week after.

Surely they'll beat the Suns and make it two wins in a row?

Crowds are what they are.

All teams crowds drop off when they're playing crap.
After all, footy is entertainment and if the entertainment is consistently crap which it has been for Port followers, who can blame them?
Crap timeslot
Crap opposition

LIVE on TELLY as is every match these days. I PAY for Austar for that privelige and the AFL get S**T loads of $$$$ for it. A fair trade off for the drop in crowds i would've thought.

Trouble is that it seems everyone compares Ports crowds to the Crows crowds. Port should never rival their crowds due to obvious reasons.
It's like comparing Melbournes crowds to Collingwoods.

Footy isnt everything to supporters like it once was and they have better things to do with their time and money if they so desire.

Lets face it, with the massive television deals done these days, getting crowds to the footy isn't a priority any more for the AFL.

If anyone is offended by a low crowd figure, get over it.

No, you should be offended by it!!

Its sending your club broke and costing us (the local 9 clubs) to keep bailing you out!!!
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

The whole Port v the other sanfl clubs is no different than any of the ****** up religious wars around the world. Both sides just want to point fingers and blame anyone except themselves.

Best turnout of North fans I have ever seen in Adelaide, even back in the 90's there would only be a few hundred at best, would have been at least 1,000 there on Saturday and you could actually hear some noise after each goal.

Well done to Port, but Scott is right we blew it. We are still a WIP but confident we are heading in the right direction.

Must admit that Primus has his players playing for him and they tried their guts out all day, however if I was a Port fan I would be worried about his game style, structures and the players he seems to persist with. Im not sure he is their long term answer back up the ladder.

Not sure he'll be there beyond this year. I think there's an option for both parties beyond this year, but I'd expect the club not to exercise that option, unless there's significant improvement in the next 2-3 months.

the win on the weekend will just wallpaper over the cracks that got us 32 points down against a poor opposition in the first place.

It's no coincidence that we improved after we took the game on and started moving the ball quickly, as chipping the ball around our backlines again cost us at least 6 goals.

Kane needs to stay as a tagger, and any game where he isn't used in that role he needs to be dropped. Hopefully that last quarter from Hartlett and Pfeiffer spurs them on to better things in the coming weeks
