I admired him greatly on the field. My admiration was even greater off the field. The way he approached his battle was a true example of courage.

A legend of Australian Rules Football.

The man was tough, courageous and inspirational on and off the footy field.

It's great that his family has accepted the offer of a State funeral.

The way he battled the terrible illness with complete dignity and humility while still working with the MFC and his charity was amazing in itself, he is a true inspiration and such an amazing person. His passing is a huge loss. He touched a lot of people and improved so many lives, he really will be missed
