joke......go back to the system of playing everyboy in the first 16 rounds of the year.

Would be interesting to see how many games AFL teams have played against each other over the last 10 years.

At least with the SANFL it is even over a certain period of time (2 years).

It's not as though it's 2 meetings in 3 seasons. It's still once a season. I'm not sure why this is a big deal? Would any of us have remembered this if we didn't read the article?

Here's a better stat:

Sydney and St Kilda play their first daytime premiership match against each other since Round 11, 2004.

Even if you did the draw the traditional way it is still theoretically possible for 2 sides to meet in round 1 in one season and round 17 the next.

What's that ... a 477 day break? Not THAT much less than 512 days.

People whinge about uneven draws, travel, etc, etc, but come Grand Final day and we usually see the two most deserving teams playing off for the flag.

So the last time these played is when that Saint Schoolgirl met Gilbert for the first time? You could say that a fair bit has happened since the last time these sides have played!

Bollocks. There should be a 512 day break between every Sydney v St Kilda match.

Agreed, they play terrible boring footy.
