I wasn't there, but it appears Bickley gave them permission to go for it and take risks rather than hold back the ball until "certain" (or too late!)
He also appeared to have made a few changes in positioning that paid off.
That doesn't mean I am endorsing him as the next coach, but let's give credit where it is due.

I personally dont think much changed, we got away with making the same mistakes we hade previously because we played a sh*t side. We played no different to that against Essendon and Collingwood in the first halves IMO....

The 3 things I noticed out of the game were:
1. None of that kicking back and sideways crap (under pressure). They did use it to good affect a couple of times.
2. Position changes. Dangerfield and VB on the ball were winners
3. They looked going forward. Sometimes it still looked very horrible but, they were playing direct footy and putting it to the forwards advantage.
Overall there were good signs and will be very interesting to see if they can back it up this week. This is the real KPI for the team.

We did 1 and 3 under NC but couldnt do it all the time. Then we would turn it over and bang GOAL.

We still are terrible at kicking in. We would be the worst drilled side at kick ins by far

Have to disagree with you on number 1. The amount of times we kicked back or sideways under pressure was very high. But like I said the win counts for nothing if the players don't back it up this weekend.

It is only one game and could be a fluke, but the big difference to me as an observer, via TV, was the reduction of the hesitancy in disposing of the ball that led to all those lateral and backward short passes that eventually caused a turnover under pressure, in past matches.

My impression was that the disposal was, most of the time, quicker, less hesitant, and more direct, if not perfectly executed every time.
Bickley had said earlier that he had given the players permission to take risks and not be afraid to make mistakes.
It showed.
