Not sure I would include Rutten he needed to hail a cab to keep up with Nick. Shocking coaches decision.

I think the problem is the game plan/style more than the list.
It worked around 2004-5 but there is a limit to how far you can go with just trying to be fit enough to outrun the opposition all day.
Eventually you reach a physiological limit, and bodies start breaking down.

I'd like to see a longer game with more marking forwards staying forward.
Leaving the opposition defenders outnumbering the few forward targets doesn't work.
A bit more emphasis on body strength rather than running may help too.

Thompson (usual hard nut performance, gave some frees away in frustration, who could blame him)
Jacobs (was only one to grab a couple contested marks, rucked well)
Petrenko (shining light in poor season)
