Round 11 vs. Carlton

Postby valleys07 » Fri Jun 03, 2011 11:10 am

Can we make it 2 in a row? Answer: Unlikely! Carlton are in reasonable form at the moment, and have a good recent record against port at AAMI. Looking forward to getting down there sunday, just the 2nd time ive seen port live this season!

If port can nullify the likes of judd and murphy and put some form of defensive pressure on carlton (at the present moment their defence is probably at its weakest) then i see us a slight chance but the likes of Brogan, Boak and Gray need to back up last weeks performances to be any show in this one. The pies will start the day in fine fashion with a win over sturt but the blues will reign supreme in the big game. Carlton by 20-30.

Hartlett really needs to lift his game. Very lazy footballer who looks good when he has the ball out in the open, but there are so many times where he wont chase after an opponent with the ball, doesn't run hard to create an option. Injury prone, and unless things pick up will be a good trade option.

Kane Cornes and Matt Thomas shouldnt be in the same team. Both are good at shutting opposition players down, but neither have a good disposal and both turn the ball over time and time again with poor decision making. Thomas has age and a perception of being a tough player on his side so Kane should spend some time at the Bays.

Logan is an ok depth player for when we have a lot of injuries but as a regular in the team he is just not good enough.

Phillips isn't up to AFL standard. Every 10 times he goes for the ball, he fumbles 7 of them. He runs around packs, runs past an opponent with the ball throwing one arm out at him in an "attempt" at a "tackle".

Schultz is a good forward because we don't have anyone else, but if we need him to kick a lot of our goals each week we are in a lot of trouble. Not a great kick for goal and a turning circle the size of the QE2
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run
