I propose that we try a new rule.

If you miss the first game of the round, you get a default of 1pt on the favourite? That way you don't lose your 10pt'er?

I think the term generous is generous.

More that we shouldn't disadvantage people for missing the kick in the Fri night game when there is late night shopping, beer, happy hours, beer and other festivities going on - like beer. Not to take away anything from anyone last year, but it could've made a slight difference to things last year (more for the minor placings I think) if we had this in place. And we had people pull out half way through* the season which I want to try and avoid this season.

Round 1 is done and dusted.

Firstly, welcome all the newcomers, and welcome all the weighted footy tipping veterans!

Only two people selected teams other than Collingwood for their 10 points. Not surprisingly, sapaul picked a loser with his 10pts. Seriously sapaul you are a freak! Most people picked the Bulldogs (most with 6 but some as high as 8 ), ruining what might've been an almost perfect round.

The scores for this round were very even with only 2 points separating 1st and 10th.

Newcomer Thats Gold, Trader and whufc each scored 31.5 to top the leaderboard. Myself, LMA and missusgadj1976 and another newcomer The Indian round out the top 7.

Nice symmetry by another newcomer, Bigshow82, who scored 28!

Last years winner overloaded started cautiously just as he did last season, scoring 23.5 but we know not to write him off this early.

Browny25 becomes the first round loser, scoring 21. Long season to go Browny, so don't give up!
