Nab Cup Scores

Talk on the national game

Re: Nab Cup Scores

Postby Rik E Boy » Mon Feb 28, 2011 9:27 am

Picked a good night to go out on the turps. Heaps out, messing about the with the ball across half back and unable to penetrate St Kilda's forward press for about the third time in a row. A good NAB campaign - early wins, lots of footy for the kids and a sneaky second round exit while Essendon pump themselves up to lure back the disenchanted members.

Didnt Essendon play the Saints in Round 1? Oh yeah, thats right, they manipulate the programming to try and get a St's V Collingwood GF....

I know its only a challenge match but Sydney and Gold Coast played in round 1 and now play in round 3 again, I can't really see the benefit in playing the same team twice in trial matches?

Not good enough.
Were behind by a bit most of the night, got back to 3pts midway through the last but the pies experience showed at the end. Good hitout and learning experience for the kids

Bit harsh there. Yes it was a NAB cup game but i thought the skills and pressure was good. One of the better pre-season games ive seen for a while. And yes i have no illusions how far we have to go to catch up to collingwood, they are streets ahead at moment.

This game meant a lot  , only five posts thus far. Coll looked good, near full strength, Ess will win more than they lose, I've got nothing else. Bring on round one!

Definitely not near full strength. As a start, Maxwell and Reid were absent, which created some problems for us in defence. Did Sidebottom play?
Jolly rested in the last quarter, leaving Wood to ruck and that showed a massive area of concern for the Pies. He is simply not good enough.

Well 19 players from last years premiership played, so that would mean they were near full strength IMO. Unless Dogwatcher and NM have other ideas on how you define 'near full strength'
