IIRC the Crows "loss" was accountancy practice generated due to specific asset write downs.
That's rather different from consistently spending more than you know you are going to earn..

Nobody is denying that port are in huge trouble financially....but it bugs me when crows supporters have a dig at our financial situation and our crowd numbers, when regardless of where adelaide's money is going, they are running a loss also, and their crowd numbers are falling at a higher percentage than that of the power....

My point was that there are real losses and incidental accountancy practice losses.
I once paid no tax for two years due to accountancy write downs and bought a Maserati in the middle of it out of my cash flow.
Port's losses are real losses due to poor management, and failure to do something about it over a prolonged period.

A couple of poor seasons will cause a drop off in any team's attendances, and the Crows are suffering for that at present, but if you look at the longer term pattern there is a difference.
Port shouldn't use that sort of blip as an excuse to justify bad practices over a much longer period, and neither should their supporters.
