Wolf Creek opens in the US to lukewarm reviews

Can't say I'm surprised - despite the hysterical praise heaped on it by Australian critics.

One day they might realise that over-hyping a film - Wolf Creek, Little Fish, Look Both Ways, The Magician, The Proposition - doesn't do it any favours.

On another note, it seems unlikely that Wolf Creek will pull in $10m at the local box office - the magical mark that distributors deem that a film is a hit.

Agreed Maggies, it never helps to over-hype movies, just let people go and judge. Not surprised though about reaction in the States, it hasn`t got the happy ending, the miracle escape, the hero ( Big name actor ),or the effects that fill big movies these days. Same as the Proposition ,I reckon they would have fallen off their seats when they saw that bullets ( Or spears ) can actually hit and hurt the star, aren`t they usually bullet proof ??

I think it also doesn't help the movie's sales when reviewers write up the ending in their summaries!
Last time I read anything movie related written by you Sponge!

Sorry Blues, didn`t mean to give that away :? Still a lot more at the end anyway to keep you on the edge of your seat.

No worries Sponge. It would need to be a very good film to make it this far east to begin with. But from what you have written, it has a lot of the elements that Japanese find appealing in films. So I may end up seeing it on the big screen anyway.
