Unfortunately it was against THE MIGHTY DONS!!!!
The following year the poor bloke carked it in a car accident overtaking a semi trailer.
Irony is, in 1991 the Penrith Panthers defeated the Canberra Raiders in the Rugby League Grand Final
when shortly after Penrith player Ben Alexander was killed in a prang as well!
...Weird eh?
