I'm almost over this.
And yes, my "monica" is indeed named after this Borat, i started using it about 3 years ago, big fan of the Ali-G show.
His other character "Bruno" is equally as hilarious.

Saw it last night, didn't rate it that much but not my style of movie. I think its one of those movies you either like or think is crap - I choose the later. I only laughed a few times when other people in cinema laughed contantly throughout prehaps I am not into comedies and being that until a couple weeks ago never heard of him besides "Borats" username may have made me not understand his humour.

One of the funniest movies of all time. A couple of scenes were actually painful, because of laughter. A guy from work went to the cinemas to see it, and thought it was hilarious, but was too scared too laugh. Very offensive.

Agreed. I was dry reaching at a certain point too, anyone who's seen it will probably know which part...

I'm wondering if a lot of the rave reviews it's getting are from people who aren't overly familiar with the character and maybe even Ali G? If you are seeing him for the first time I'm sure it would be more shocking. But as he seems to be recycling a lot of his gags from Da Ali G Show it all seemed a bit predictable to me. Even though there are some amazing scenes for sure.

Has its moments but runs out of steam half way through.
Average.
