Welcome Back Kotter actor Robert Hegyes died today in New Jersey from a suspected heart attack.

Hegyes was a star of the 1970s comedy -- with his character Juan Epstein famous for producing faked absence letters from "Epstein's Mother" and "Epstein's Mother's Doctor" -- and was also one of its directors.

Wow, you sort of think these guys from our favourite TV shows will just live on forever. Very sad that he only lasted till 60 TBH.

Did he have a note from his mother to confirm this?

Seriously, though, very sad news, this one saddened me also - shows that I'm getting on when people in TV shows I grew up with like this start passing.
