Everyone's got one, some of the older posters might come up with a real pearl of wisdom...

Those TV shows that took us all by storm, then disappeared...

For me, David Tench Tonight, and The Mole...

The John Larroquette Show. Ran four years in the States, only two years shown in Australia. Very funny in its first season, really good, dark humour, but changed notably by the end of the second year.

Gladiators 2nd run.
Australian Survivor, one season and the winner is now no longer with us.
Neighbours on c7, letting it go and letting c10 have it was a big mistake now having over 6000 episodes.

The show hosted by Doug Mulray, Packer pulled the plug for some minor technicality!

The Larry Sanders Show

It was on the the 90s. I thought it was hilarious but it never seemed to take off here. Got put into later and later timeslots and then disappeared.

x2. Really hoping that one of the digital channels brings it back in repeats. Newsradio, Murphy Brown and Night Court have all reappeared recently on Seven's digital channels, so hoped this may follow suit. Classic comedy.

There have been a number of one-season wonders that should've made it further:

Firefly
Crusade (Babylon 5 spinoff)
Rubicon
Dark Skies
Total Recall 2070
Nowhere Man
Voyagers! (1982)
Space: Above and Beyond

x3.

But Larry Sanders ran for six seasons!

Definitely got short shrift here.

Can understand why. Just does not belong on a commercial network. You can imagine programmers thinking "what the hell are we gonna do with this?"

Loved Night Court back in the day.

There's a great 30 Rock ep which reunites some of the cast...

Homicide: Life on the street

As a 15/16/17 year old I liked Quantam Leap.

It was their decision to end it, but as far as Australian shows go, difficult to go past "Frontline" for short in run, but massive in impact. Three seasons of some of the best quality comedy television this country has produced.
