Actor Jon Blake passes away

Not to be confused with the local radio identity of the same name, the 52 year old was best known for his roles in "The Restless Years","Mad Max" and "The Lighthorsemen". He was involved in a serious car accident filming the latter, and was left brain damaged, never to recover.

A truely sad and tragic life as a result of horrific injuries from a car accident.

May he rest in peace now.

I watched "Anzacs" mini-series again recently on Fox. He was terrific in this series.

It's always a tragedy when someone is injured to that extent at a young age.
And it was hard for him and his family to handle
If I correctly recall some articles at the time, it was mentioned he had offers of roles overseas ready for when The Lighthorseman concluded.

Touted as "the next big thing" at the time.

Drew comparisons with Mel Gibson who was then on the verge of Hollywood stardom.

By all accounts, he was treated appallingly by his carer late in life...
