Very disappointing.

Laboured one-note joke got tired very quickly.

Less Karl, more Ricky and Stephen...

Magpiespower is one of those critics who would criticise his own criticisms for the sake of being critical, so I'm guessing it was very funny. ;)

That is 'The Ricky Gervais Show' but all of that stuff can be heard on their various podcasts as well.

An Idiot Abroad is excellent, I watched it quite some time ago. I didn't realise it was on One HD this week, every ad I saw for it didn't mention a date so will have to catch it next week. Karl Pilkington is a genius.

All I know is I don't want to visit any of the places he visits - the Egypt episode with shitty nappies flying in the breeze beggars belief (pardon the pun)

Karl really is a genuis, I agree. The Ricky Gervais Show is amazing, it recently got me through 2 long overseas trips. Lifesaving.

I happened to catch the replay tonight and not knowing anything about the show and just going off what I had seen in the ads I thought it would be crap but I don't think I've ever laughed as much watching a show on TV than that China episode. I had tears coming down at one point that Karl Pilkington guy is hilarious (not right up on all the Ricky Gervais stuff don't consider him funny).

I'm sure the novelty will wear off over eight episodes but I'll be tuning in again next week and seems like they've started filming a second series due to the good ratings it got in England too.

I agree with Quichey about calling it "whinging pom" but Pilkington's observational humour was still fantastic.
Especially when they were in the market area and that bloke was eating a boiled foetus.

On a side note, I find Ricky Gervais' laugh annoying as hell.

The bit where that lady was smashing the crap out of the toad getting it ready for dinner was pretty funny.
