Anyone caught a look at this show on Fox?

Kinda like an Aussie Idol with contestants from the globe aiming to become the lead singer of newly formed band Supernova (consisting of Gilby Clarke, Tommy Lee and Jason Newsted) ... Watched it last night and thought it was great ... Some classic songs played and was interesting to see whether the performers did justice to them with their own interpretation/rendition.

They trying to cash in on how popular the INXS version was.

Kicks the SHIT out of Idol!

I have the whole first series on my PC - watched it every week. If anything it's at least a WILD show for songs.
Some real highlights on the first one.

Got all of the current season thus far as well.

Agreed, it's a top show and always interesting to see if the contestants can pull out a big performance when they're under the pump.

So much better than 'idle' it's not funny -good music, top-notch house band, judges with real cred and Brooke Burke hosting!

The guy from Melbourne isn't bad, but I can't quite see him as their front man.
Hard to pick a certain winner at this stage.

I'd say it's out of Storm Large, Dilana, Toby Rand and Lukas Rossi
Magni's an outside chance.
Dana's easy on the eye but won't get the gig.

Yeah I would have thought Storm would be favourite ... She's tidy as, sings well, and has both energy and a bit of a weird ass edge when performing, looks as though my Sunday nights are occupied for the next few months!!

just loved her song last week.. she went off!!

And agreed on Storms performance the other night .. It's a great song as it is but she did it VERY well imho!!

I don't think Storm can win it.
Easy on the eye no doubt (there's nuddie shots online) - and has some sexy looks when performing but I think she's a bit too "MiG" with the showy part of it.

Magni hasn't had a bad week - and would probably be favourite if he was not an "international".

Lukas is really different - like his attitude (most of the time) and seems very very natural on stage leading a band. Voice seems a little one dimensional though - and often restricted.

Toby is good - probably because I'm Australian and feel naturally inclined to like him! Bit "pub rock" maybe - and hasn't done anything spectacular yet - but tidy performances. I think he'll get top 4 because of a) Good for the ladies and b) Australian (and bulk votes are great). MiG was the beneficiary of this last season.

Dilana is different though I'd prefer to see her to be solo or in a different band - as she quite unique but I don't think a good match for the band.

Well we've come a fair way since the last discussions on this one ... Last night saw the exit of Ryan who I actually thought had the best voice of the lot of them ... The 3 saving performances were all pretty ave I thought, but I would have had him rated higher than Dilana and Storm on those performances alone.

With 5 left here's how I see it ...

Lukas - Has every chance ... Personally I think he's been ordinary and shouldn't have made it this far, but for some reason the Supernova crew seem to love him!

Toby - Has improved and must be a some sort of chance now after I'd initially thought he would make up the numbers ... Holds a crowd well and the girlies love him, the appeal of which will not be lost on Tommy and Co. ...

Magni - Has slipped a bit in recent weeks but did a pretty good job with "I Alone" ... His best songs thus far have been Live numbers and I don't think he'll be able to head back to that well again, meaning he'll need to show as much ability with other future numbers ..

Dilana - Has plenty of talent and a strong gruff voice, and is almost in the Lukas category in terms of how much the SuperNova boys love her ... Downside is her bottom 3 performance last night and the fact that she's put many of the other contestants and voting public offside with her bitchy comments/attacks in the last 2 weeks.

Storm - Has been in decline the last few weeks and needs a BIG performance to get her butt out of the bottom 3 ... I actually think her voice, whilst being great, is not as good as the others remaining and I think she'll be the next to go.

Toby, Lukas & Dilana will be the last three standing.

I didn't see the EXIT show last night, though with Storm, Dilana and Ryan in the bottom three I would have gotten rid of Storm, easily. She's great, looks hot, sings well, but really - isn't for the band. Ryan is great - intense singing, excellent vocals, versatile. Defiantely thought it would be Ryan/Dilana in the finale.

Magni wont win. In their minds, he wants to be in Iceland. His life, family etc are there. I don't think they would select him because of that reason.

Toby's best performances have been his last two with Layla and Rebel Yell.

Agreed .. His rendition of "Losing My Religion" was awesome (and I'm not an REM fan) and he even made a Coldplay song more than bearable ... Pretty sure we'll hear from him again somewhere ... Vocalwise had some similarities with Eddie I reakon, should have latched himself onto a decent Pearl Jam number ...

Yes Storm is easy on the eye - just keep hangin on there young lady.
