well which 'sports team' is a better show to listen to ?

i think the summer show with david & chris is better to listen to

I don't think i've listened to AA for about 10 years now.

The summer show is much more enjoyable to listen to.

No mr know it all to continually shit can every1 who disagrees..

Wilds and Bone rule

In footy season I think Cornesy and Rowey are in their element. Outside footy season their cricket knowledge is poor and the show suffers. Bone and Wildy are no cricket experts either but they seem to wing it better. So for me the test would be Wildy and Bone in footy season compared to Cornesey and Rowey.

Bone grates on me TBH. I think he tries too hard to have the strong opinion just for the sake of it.

I think Wildy and Cornesey would be my ideal team in footy season.

David Wildy was a good keeper batsman for his District cricket team Prospect
So he should know about cricket
He is the best of that quartet of commentators

In fairness Mal I think you're right. It must be Wildy that gives the summer show better cricket cred.

KG used to be good on the cricket and would make up for Cornes but Rowey just isn't right for cricket.

I prefer Cornesy and Rowey and I like listening to Wildy but I hate Chris McDermott with a passion. He has to the most biased and one-eyed football commentator ever. I simply can't stand him, especially when he's commentating on a Crows game.

I'd just love for Sticks to pop over for an interview and hit Wildy again. He shits me.....

I love Cornsey & Rowey!!

I bumped into Rowey on my xmas show and we were both very gassed.

We ended up chatting for about 20mins.

I quizzed him about why he deserted Norwood and on the real story behind the groundskeeper leaving footy park.

He was very open and spilled all the beans and complained about Ports influence and how they call up within minutes if they are unhappy with the direction of conversation!!

As for McDermott ... cannot stand him ...

that is really disturbing that an organisation can have that much power (no pun intended) to ring a media outlet & have them try & change the direction of the program, surely whoever rings up & gives their pov is entitled to without franchises ringing up to get the course of a program changed, presuming this is true i'd suggest port goes to another low

Well I love Chris McDermott and am not too proud to admit it.

I think the McDermott / Wildy combination is a good blend, and have really enjoyed listening to them over Summer breaks the past couple of years. Like others have already stated, at least they talk sense when cricket is discussed.

Its funny how some people think Chris is biased towards the Crows. I've had to defend him plenty of times for being too outspoken about things and critising, as people have thought he should tow the party line being a past captain. As a media person he is paid to say what he thinks and sees.

I've also heard the story about Port FC ringing up when the callers have been bagging them, saying it's not acceptable for 5aa to give credence to peoples whinging (??)

Prefer the summer duo. They give cricket the respect it deserves and talk sense. Not a massive Cornes fan, and really unless you support Port or Adelaide it can be pointless listening at times. The lack of SANFL content is poor.

TAB Breakfast show much superior IMO, even if it is from Brissy. Great regular guests, hosts have excellent knowledge of all sports, bugger all adverts (an issue with 5AA), and no callers!

Ditto. Tuned in the day Hookesy died (KG was still on then though) and then for another day or 2 but that's it since about 2001. Would have been tempted had someone decent got KGs job. Mark Soderstrom would have been good but Rowey?

Rowey is a shocking broadcaster but even he doesn't deserve the disrespectful way Cornsey interacts with him. 5AA clearly thought it was good symmetry to place a(n allegedly) brainy guy with a muppet, thus the logical replacement of KG with Rowey - but as frustrating as he could be you sensed that Cornsey always deeply respected KG. He and Rowey just don't seem to like each other and certainly don't click as a team.

Wildy and McDermott on the other hand do work extremely well together and like others have mentioned, actually cover 'sports', always a bonus with any 'sports show', as opposed to just Crows/AFL. McDermott's attitude to the SANFL disappoints me from time to time but I would greatly prefer these two on air than Cornsey and Rowey.
