Just wondering if anyone has signed up with them before and their thoughts on the whole thing?

I've read good & bad reviews about their service and the unavailability of a lot of their DVD's.

Got a free three month trial the other day.

Not keen on the pot luck nature of the whole thing.

Besides, I like wandering the video store like a homeless old bum picking out random movies...

Thanks for that, how did you manage to score a free 3 month trial?

Offer landed in my letterbox the other day.

Haven't taken it up yet.

But got to December 31.

Cousin just gave me heaps of movies of his hard drive.

So I might not take up the offer...

Ive been on it for 2 years and reckon its great. You pay $14.95 per month for 4 movies, mailed straight to you, you set your own queue in your own time, dont have to have it back the next day, and dont have to drive there. Saves a few bucks. Occassionally, there will be one I have to wait a bit for, but not often

Far be it from me to judge others' movie viewing habits, but the idea of mail order DVD rental (or any kind of DVD rental for that matter) strikes me as a little quaint in this digital age. Netflix (http://www.netflix.com/) is really taking off overseas - do we have anything similar to that here yet?

I use Bigpond movies. Costs about $8 per month and get 2 dvd's at a time and free postage. Sounds the same as you drifter, but I'm certain I don't pay that much.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Be warned that if you do put in for the free trial that they require your credit card details (for security purposes of course...) Then you have to opt out of it, as opposed to giving it the all clear to go ahead.

I must admit after reading their terms & conditions it's put me right off of them. I've got a two month free trial and won't even be bothering with it.
