Seven launches new digital channel: 7Mate

Today the Seven Network has revealed it will launch a third digital channel to be called 7Mate on September 25 that will cater to the male demographic. The channel will launch on the high definition service, currently titled 7HD it will move from channel 70 to channel 73 on high definition televisions and set-top-boxes.

The channel will broadcast this years AFL Grand Final in High Definition and will target the male 16 – 49 demographic to complement programming on Seven and 7TWO.

Spot on OnSong!

Does this mean 7Mate will show the friday night game live in SA while the women can watch better homes and gardens on the regular 7?

Judging by the trailer on that site it seems the target demographic will be pimply-faced 15 year old boys. Dumb ones.

Have noticed today (not sure when it happened) but channel 90 is now labelled GEM and plays different shows to channel 9. Anyone heard anything on that?

channel 10 are adding another channel to take over 11. looks the same as 7mate but will be showing dexter, more simpsons (more than likely repeats) etc. not sure when it starts but will be interesting to see what else they have on.
