Mum, can we have Chicken Tonight, tomorrow night?

The fact that the Chicken Tonight ad has resurfaced is hilarious.
All those people doing the chicken dance is fantastic.
My favourite is the slack jawed, gaping, gap toothed cleaner with the frizzy hair laughing at the businessman.
Do you think the kid who asks "Mum, can we have Chicken Tonight, tomorrow night?" cringes now, as an adult, whenever this ad comes on tv?

But the best part of seeing the ad again is that it allowed me to watch this again:

I can't believe a company has dug out an ad that must be nearly 20 years old to advertise their product. Bloody awful stuff it is too.

That banana ad was another one that lasted years and was only updated so they could do a 'Where are they now' ad for the kids in that ad.

That Chicken Tonight ad has me in stitches every time I see it - terribly outdated!

And I agree - Chicken Tonight is awful, only Kan Tong is worse (I await Kan Tong to dig out it's 1990's ads now :D)

Loads of companies seem to be reusing their old ad's or revamping them into a little historical montage eg mild green Fairy liquid (don't know if you have that one) at the moment.

I suspect it must save them billions in advertising costs compared to making brand new ones and as Chicken Tonight is owned by a European company the credit crunch/recession thing is still biting a bit and they wouldn't want to hurt the shareholders (poor dears) would they.

JAS

perhaps tv ads are similar to fashion in going through different phases, so why not bring out an old ad considering there are blasts from the pasts with fashion etc...
