Community/The InBetweeners

Postby CK » Wed Mar 31, 2010 7:15 pm

These two shows started on Go! a couple of weeks back, Tuesday nights at 9pm and 9.30pm. Caught them for the first time last night and the latter in particular, is genuinely laugh out loud stuff. A cross between Grange Hill and American Pie, the English show has a cast of newcomers that really hit the mark with dialogue and situations.

Community has been running for the last few months in the US and is the TV comeback for Chevy Chase. Set in a community college, it looks at the interaction between the students and mainly Jeff Winger (Joel McHale) and their experiences. Notable for the amount of improvisation in scripts, it has been getting a great reception in the States.

Both shows are among the sharper comedies going around, wondering if anyone else has caught them?

Great show watched both the 1st and 2nd seasons with my cousins when we went to New Zealand over christmas. Shame it's only on go! though, it would get more viewers if it was only a normal channel. I actually thought if they were going to show it here, it would be on SBS like skins
