By now most people on hear would have heard about what has happened. Sarah M. who played the youngest daughter had things happen to her on the set of the show. The person named as the person duing the things was the person that played the dad.

Ben Oxenbould gave the performance of his career in a self-serving interview on ACA last night...

The disgraceful thing here is that someone - anyone - would target the younger girl ahead of Simone Buchanan =P~

I think the saddest part of the situation is that it's purely become a media circus - which Sarah herself started by choosing to sell the story rather than simply inform the police. ACA have basically spent the entire week on the story (including last night's 'interview' with Ben Oxenbould which consumed pretty much the entire show), and are continuing it tonight with their confrontation with Robert Hughes in true ACA style.

Having said that, certainly poses questions as to why he was replaced as Martin Kelly for the final season - did he jump before he was pushed perhaps?

And here I was thinking the biggest scandal to come out of Hey Dad would be the verbal barrage enacted on 'the Fat Kid from Hey Dad' by The Late Show pranksters ;)

He resigned, according to the executive producer in his interview last Friday. From memory the "replacement" for the final season played the children's uncle.

There has been a bit of overkill by ACA - I think I've seen 4 nights over the last two weeks fully dedicated to this story. Having said that it's probably the only 4 nights I've watch ACA all year. It's probably also getting them their best ratings in a long time, whilst potentially giving them a chance to sink the boot in to Channel 7 (if the reports of the executive producer/senior staff not acting on these alleged claims at the time are true).

Did anyone count how many times Tracy said "I put it to you" the other night to the exec producer?

After a while i was expecting her to throw in a line from Ali G and say "I put it to you...that you sucked off a 'orse".... :D

Not to mention all those late nights sitting up watching Pacific Drive hoping some wardrobe would be missing :(

Now unless of course it isn't actually hers, you'd think that if Sarah had such an issue with "Dad" that she wouldn't have these photos on here website.

Why should she not have those photos on her website?
Those photos were her career.
Why let some dirty sleazy adult take everything away from her? (allegedly)

The allegations are more than likely true,
With family friends kids now coming out and speaking.

So therefore the sadest thing here is that a little girl was subject to this,
She might be all grown up now and people might be 'blaze' about it all,
And just because she wasn't 'raped' as such - she was a little girl
And should NOT have been subject to this.
If he is infact guilty of this kind of behaviour I hope he's shaking in his boots.

You guys with current little girls - just think how you'd feel if this happened to them.

It's not always easy to 'just tell someone' - and it's usually someone these little girls know,
This would have affected how she grew up,
She would have known it not to be right - so would have felt scared and ashamed
Would have wondered if it would lead to something else more serious,
But still not being comfortable to be able to tell someone
This would have turned to anger.

And this talk of 'she seems fine enough' that I've heard elsewhere -
OMG - unless we've been there in the same situation we have no idea.

Yes ACA probably have gone overboard - and yes perhaps she shouldn't have done a 'tell all story' - but if in fact true - think of all the other little girls out there that he might have been subject to.

Sounds like someone wanting to try and relaunch a career by putting themselves back in the spotlight. Same goes for 'Fatty Finn' Oxenbold...

Agree with much of your post Mum.

My only issue is why she didn't go directly to police. Let the correct process sort it out. Instead we have good old trial by media with the totally impartial Tracy Grimshaw as lead for the prosecution.

I question the motives of the accuser. If it goes to court hopefully the truth will come out.

I agree too CC - my post is purely the fact that this happened to a little girl.

I don't think she should have 'played it out' in the media either.
But she did/is.

And I suppose the only 'positive' that might come from all the publicity,
Is maybe there's a little girl out there now who this is happening too,
and it gives them the courage to come forward and tell their parents,
or an adult who can 'help' them out.

Good article on the abc website about the 'trial by media' going on with this story:

http://www.abc.net.au/unleashed/stories/s2856611.htm

Exactly why I hate trashy weekday current affairs shows. Gutter journalism that is nothing more than an audio visual gossip magazine.

I'm sick of this trend of people selling their story to the media too. Trauma as a commodity, a sad reflection of modern society.

Yep GGnuts, I expect Media Watch to have an absolute field day with this one!
