Heart attack, 59.

Growing up in the '80s would have been a vastly different experience were it not for this man. I liked some, though not all of his movies. However most of his films were supplemented with soundtracks of '80s pop goodness (Pretty In Pink anyone? 8) ), and as such his movies were inescapable.

Looked to have a great working relationship with John Candy, making some lovely comedy together. Planes, Trains, Automobiles is still one of my all-time favorite movies. A sad day...John Hughes was another big part of my growing up gone. :(

Also wrote under the "Psuedo" of Edmond Dantes.

80s output is phenomenal.

Mr. Mom criminally underrated...

Nup, didn't like it, plus most people that know me tell me I'm stuck in the 80s anyway. ;)

Nah, that's just because Prospect is stuck in a time warp, the dancing girls even were dancing to the Beatles FFS!
