Karl Malden a hard nosed, big name, dramatic actor has passed away 1/9/2009
Born Mladen George Sekulovich 22/3/1912
Died of natural causes

Starred in many movies/TV shows
A career that spanned several decades

My memories are from a favourite TV show The Streets Of San Francisco
Luitentant Mike Stone in that great show of the 1970s
Also in that show was Michael Douglas

He had that look, those eyes would look right thru you when he acted

97 is a ripe old age
He was bred for a long life
MALDEN 1912-2009
FATHER 1880-1976
MOTHER 1892-1996

FOOTNOTE
18/4/06 his Dad arrived in San Francisco
That was the day the big Earthquake happened, over 3000 people died
His dad would have had mixed thoughts when The Streets Of San Fransico starred his son almost 70 years later
That TV show was a reason why I ended up travelling to San Francisco in the early 80s

Very good actor who deserved a lot more recognition than he got imho.

On the Waterfront and A Streetcar Named Desire were two great films he appeared in too

RIP Karl
