So annoying that Gretel Killeen is hosting it this year :(

Also I wonder why that 'due to circumstances beyond our control' they are unable to show acting performances for actors nominated in the first series of underbelly??

Weird :?

Would it have anything to do with the non-screening in Vic of the first series?

I was actually just thinking that, but I thought that was all over and it has since been screened ?

One good thing came out of last night's presentation...

Gretel Killleen was exposed for the lightweight she really is!

A disaster of Wendy Harmer proportions.

She floundered without some wet behind the ears 20-something to bully.

And since she wrote all her own material, she's only got herself to blame...

She said things, quite often, and people wouldn't even laugh.
And you could hear the audience constantly talking over her.

But yes well done to Rebecca Gibney on the gold O:)

the 1st season of underbelly is back in courts here in Victoria and as such we still cannot see it. Even the edited version will not be screened here. Also Gretel was like watching a beached whale die very sad I turned off at 9pm and went to sleep i cannot stand Gretel and it was poor that they put her in that position. I would have preferred Bert.

It's the first time since I can ever remember that I went to bed without watching the logies till the very end.
Why are they so bad at picking logies hosts...
They should 'put it out' in the public and let us pick a host O:)

Personally I don't care who hosts, I think it's disrespectful for industry insiders to talk over the host. Completely and utterly. If you don't respect the particular host, shut up or excuse yourself.

The host is doing a job because of the industry, for the industry at their biggest night. Show some respect.

Did anyone see Shelley Craft's nipple slip towards the end of the red carpet preview?

Yeah, I read in the paper this morning its due to legal issues.

Safran has the talent but argueably not the "presence" to pull it off. And let's not talk about the very obvious down ssssside to him hossssting. ;) Not that it would worry me but I can't see it happening.
As for Chaser I'll pass. But some folk seem to think they are funny. Personally as bad as the OZ TV industry is I'd like to think it's at least outgrown "zany" under grad humour .

He hosted the AFI's a few years back on SBS.

Took the absolute (and deserved) p*** out of the local industry.

Was very funny. But never hosted the awards again.

Agree re: 'The Chaser'. And they readily confess to their undergraduate sins. Claim to be moving away from that type of comedy.

But if Lawrence Leung is any indication...
