the man inside of the robot from the 1960's' cult tv series lost in space has died, aged 69


ps, one of my & mals favourite tv characters

Awww so sad...loved the series and especially the robot. Always called him Robby as a kid cos he was so like the one in The Forbidden Planet.

RIP Bob and thanks for bringing to life a childhood favourite.

the man that designed the robot was the same man that designed robby the robot who was in one episode of lost in space in 'war of the robots' i can't recall the designers name

btw the robot out of lost in space was simply known as robot or as a b9 robot

Always seemed odd that a character so obviously designed to appeal to kids didn't have a name.

...and who didn't want one of these at the time :d never got one though :(

You should have a look on YouTube...quite a few have built life sized, working models too.
