This year's Underbelly appears to be about Robert Trimbole, Mr Asia and events that eventually led to the murder of Donald McKay in 1977. Fairly interesting subject matter even if it is the same old hacks getting a gig. A lot of hush shush sort of stuff went on with all that so might be a good view.
I've read a bit of Silvester about McKay et al but wouldn't mind reading a bit more about this part of Oz Criminal history.
regards,
REB

REB, have you read the book Leadbelly? Part One is what the first series of Underbelly was based and is written fairly poorly, however, Part Two is about the 80's war between Victorian Police and the criminal underworld (mostly armed robbers) and it is much, much more interesting. I'm not sure if any of it is featured in the second series of Underbelly though.

It's the second part of Leadbelly. Hundred times better than the first part.
