Kokoda

A pretty flat film overall.

Suffers from one note characters - didn't really care, or care as much as the filmmakers wanted me to, if they lived or died.

And the score was overbearing to say the least. Terrible!

Basically, it's one long battle scene.

Sounded like a good idea that suffered from a very small budget.
Cornesy' doesn't sound too impressed with it.

Sounds like a review for Lord of the Rings!

I agree though, I went in hoping I would learn a lot about a subject about which I'm fairly ignorant but came out none the wiser - there is virtually no narrative and some of the script is simply dreadful. Sample quote: when one of the soldiers is reporting to the medico (Shane Bourne FFS!) and is told they've run out of medication or something he says "Well, do you have any hope?". Cringe!!!

Apparently it was all shot on the Gold Coast - I was at LAmington National Park this week and could definitely get a feel for where it was filmed.

Not a bad film but not what it should have been

Felt the same when William McInness rocked up for his "rah-rah" speech.

I'm a bit tired of every Australian film and mini-series portraying us as laconic, knockabout blokes.

Be good to see some characters with a bit of mongrel a la Neddy and The Dodger in 'Blue Murder.'
