On now, trying to copy the UK version too much for my liking. Needs to find a point of difference somewhere. But it isn't off to a bad start so far. Will give it time for a bit of chemistry to develop between the hosts (more than 15 minutes at least!).

They could give it more of an Australian Feel with the sets and with the Stig's race suit etc.
need give it a couple of weeks before passing judgment

Way too much like the English version, just without as many funny bits.
Will give it time, but they need to formulate it away from the English way....

The shorter bearded guy was kind of annoying, like the little dog that jumps around trying to get your attention.
Seems like he is trying (too hard) to be the younger, hip guy in contrast to the other two.
Not a bad start overall though, very similar format to UK version as has mentioned -but it's a winning formula and I guess they didn't want big differences.

For those like me

...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHYIh4ggydIFrom that clip of the first couple of minutes it doesn't look too bad.
Although I didn't realise they had copied the set quite so precisely and thought at first they'd brought in Chris Tarrant to present it
I'd say give it a chance...obviouly they'll want to stick with a proven successful format but will also want to make their own mark too...won't be easy but no reason why it shouldn't work if people give it a chance.
Regards
JAS

By the end of the show, I realised that I had enjoyed it quite a bit. Looking forward to the chemistry developing between the hosts more over time. Thumbs up overall from me!

perhaps with all the hype that surrounded the series i expected a bit much. time will tell i guess.

I'll watch it again. Agree though that they shouldn't try to emulate Clarkson, May and Hammond though. Be humorous, but don't try and be clones boys... That goes for the format too. It doesn't need to be identical. What's the point in doing an exact replica of the UK version only with different guys?
I thought their stunts were actually pretty good but wasn't too impressed with the way they edited The Stig's hot laps...

I think the close emulation is contracted, they can't deviate too much from the package they purchased. Also, the stig laps were heavily edited I presume to fit lots of them in, to get a bit of data on the board, rather than just have 1 on the board going in to next week.

this weeks episode was much better IMHO
easier to watch presenters seemed more relaxed, not trying too hard to be funny.

I caught the ford v holden part but that was it. Must admit for something as Australian as ford v holden it was very short and unfulfilling. Haven't watched it since, not by design, I've just been busy at those times.
