Anyone here been on a Game Show?

Postby JK » Mon Apr 03, 2006 7:07 pm

Had a crack at Wheel Of Fortune in my late teens, memorable moments included:

1. The session at Wee Willy's beforehand to settle the nerves
2. Two re-starts once coz I was chewing gum, the second because my smokes were still my top pocket
3. Top Dollar in round 2 :D
4. Bankrupt next spin
5. Scoring the W in Round 3 with "Florence Nightingale" :D
6. Only being able to afford a Chopping Block and Meccano set
7. Watching it on TV and realising that the Mullet didn't really go with my shirt
8. Watching the school teacher next to me say "Ill have an R for Sally"

Pretty lively half hour ... Anyone else been on any shows??

Nice one!

Closest I ever got to was in the Channel Niners audience for a friend's birthday. To keep this footy-relevant, the girl who was to become the wife of Matthew Liptak, got to do that game with the wire - you know, bent twisty wire over which you had to manouvre another strip of metal, if you touched the sides it buzzed and you got electrocuted.

We all left with showbags, smiles, Fosters Snack Packs and signed photos of Winky & Wobby Wobby Woenfeldt.

Ah...play the Wonder Years theme now....
"A no vote from any club means there is some sort of risk involved in our entry into the competition not working," Steven Trigg.

I haven't been (though I'd like to!)

My English teacher from high school was on Wheel of Fortune as well. He got the end where you do the final one yourself.

The answer was a movie - and it was"Three Men and a Little Lady"

He got a few letters from his selections and said ...

"Three Men and a Better Baby"

Most certainly! And I got to say "Packet number 1, please sir".

Andrew Harwood was a regular on The Paul Hogan Show. The last I saw him was on GMA flogging garden hoses you could park your Pajero on.

hooray!

15 years and a few months ago I did the Wheel of Fortune thing

 Much skinnier
 Most amount of hair gel. Ever.
 Big glasses
 Thin leather tie and checked shirt
 losing all night, in the last round spun top dollar
 Went with "T for temptations" ( the answer was The Tempaptions) and won with the last spin of the night
 Thought i was very funny. Also went with P for Pensioner at one stage.
 Taping the next episode was the next day.
 Tried to hard to be funny. Sledged the opposition. Looked like a tool.
 Winning all episode, lost on the last spin. Still spewing
 Won about $4k worth of crap. The holiday to Qld was good (By bus!).
 Still have the thermos and the board game

P.S. I think i can dig up a photo, try and find it.

Never did a game show, but I was a regular on the morning show with Amanda Halvosen and Jan Beasley some years ago. Think I did about 50 or so 10 minute gigs. Have em all on video, but Beta.

Dont think I want to watch them now.

Also did a few "late nights" with Bob Picciuti?

Gees that guy knew his stuff didn't he? Who would thought that there was another Young brother that was in a band called Grapefruit?????
I once one was on the Channel Niners doughnut eating competition when it was hosted by Ian Fairweather and Glynis (soon to be Mrs Ernie Sigley) O'Brien. That sort of qualifies as a game show I think. I won a who,why and where book and some Humphrey Honey Snacks!
