Recently there has been a lot of discussion going on about the language of Gordon Ramsay on the show.
Personally i really like the show and if anyone has a problem with it, CHANGE THE CHANNEL.

There was never a hoohah about Gordon Ramsay when the ABC was broadcasting the UK version of Kitchen Nightmares.
Stick it on a commercial channel and suddenly it's corrupting the morals of the chilluns...
The UK version was superior IMO. Just as much swearing but a lot more realistic. I get the feeling that the USA edition is half setup, and the whole thing is edited to maximise the drama.
Can't say I ever watch it though.

Would be great to see the UK version and be able to compare the two..I love the current show but can admit there are parts that are a bit too over the top

You ARE watching it. Repeats of it.
There has only been one series of the US one which is a lot more tacky and crass - though not half as awful as Hell's Kitchen (I really like Kitchen Nightmares but this is unwatchable IMO).

This is the 3rd different show I know of he stars in
Fox have been playing "The F word" & "Hell's Kitchen" for a while now
He's a great chef, very good at what he does but I am sure he gets off on being famous

Spot on. The English version is great. The US version is just over the top rubbish. Hell's Kitchen is just awful.

Was in the shop lining up the other day, and there was a father and son (probably around 8 or 9) waiting in front of me.
Son said something like "look i've got marijuana, those f***ing cops aren't gonna get it" or something like that (said right in front of his father

), quite said

but quite funny at the time

, and a bit later i had a bit of a giggle thinking this is what all the controversy is about

Yes, one of the restaurant managers from the US series that Gordon told a few home truths to is alleging he has ruined his reputation and is now unemployable. Sooky, sooky, la la!!

Dead goose alert! Typical commercial channel - something becomes unexpectedly popular and they then ram it down everyone's throats until they bleed the concept dry (ala gardening / lifestyle / makeover / cop drama shows). They've even got him coming out to do an Oz version by which time everyone is going to be totally sick of him.
But when a show that takes a little more effort to get into (and this is almost always sci-fi - I'm thinking Battlestar Galactica, Terminator Chronicles) doesn't give an overnight ratings bonanza they can it or put it on at the 'special time' of 11:30, despite lots of pre-publicity.
Viva la interweb!

Love him or hate him, he's doing something right... At last count he was worth $131,000,000!
I'm a huge fan of his Kitchen Nightmares shows but Hell's Kitchen is a blunder on his part IMO. Kitchen nightmares has a much greater degree of originality. Hell's Kitchen is just another crap reality show that uses the same old template as 5,000 shows before it.
Nine should be careful. If they over expose him, they risk killing the goose that laid the golden egg.
I agree entirely with the other comments to the effect that if you don't like the language, change the channel. My only concern is the time slot. If it's an M rated program, then i think it should be on after 9:30pm.

Must be only prime-time they care about.
Coz I've heard the 'c' word dropped on Channel 9 during the midday movie.
Movie in question was Veronica Guerin, starring Cate Blanchette.
And after 'Our Cate' got called a 'c' by a drug baron, she copped a Liverpool kiss!
Now that's television!

Tell ya what...
That loudmouth Gordon Ramsay's pretty game abusing & belittling staff in a
kitchen full of sharp knives, boiling water/oil, meat tenderisers & such!

In Port Adelaide that would be daily life.
