Heath Leadger has been found dead in hi new york appartment

I just read that... that is freaky... (sad, but freaky).

Reports say his room was strewn with pills, and his death may have been accidental. This is probably a naive thing to say but I didn't picture him as a drug taker...

same here FC, just last year the guy had a great wife and kid and lived a quiet life just down the road from us.

only 28 is in the next batman movie called dark night

Very sad indeed. At least he won't be in a sequel of Brokeback Mountain!

I turned on Today this morning and said I was doing so just to see which Hollywood celeb had carked it. Weird karma....

just saw it on the tv, this is a shock if it was lindsay,britany etc i wouldn't be surpised but this does surprise me

big sweeping statement, i'd suggest we only hear the negative stuff & surely there would be a lot that don't partake !!

Geez in the last 6 months we've seen a lot of mental-health related deaths both in Aust and O/S

Very sad news condolences to his family and friends that would be a devastating shock

He will have a big posthumas (sp?) year as he played the Joker in "The Dark Knight" (sequel to "Batman Begins") due to be released mid this year

Maybe a sign of the times, but nothing like this shocks me anymore...

Stunning news, was a pretty good actor who we didn't get to see enough of (damn his personal standards and general pickiness).

Another child with one parent gone for any reason just adds to the sadness.

news saying totally an accident also there was a g'day usa party happening in the vicinity, not sure if that is significant or not.

definately looks to be an accidental overdose on prescription pills

He could've been anything.

On another note - I'm hoping Sally Fletcher is okay about this news and not too upset
