Grindhouse

Dunno if this is coming to Adelaide after its Melbourne/Sydney run - the original double bill cut as Rodriguez/Tarantino intended.

The trailers are the highlights, especially Machete and Thanksgiving, both hilarious.

Rodriguez's Planet Terror has its moments and any zombie or horror fan will probably enjoy it.

But it outstays its welcome.

Tarantino's Death Proof is possibly the most pointless film ever made.

Nothing redeemable about it whatsoever - some of the worst dialogue ever written.

Have seen Planet Terror, I didn't like it (but it wasn't the type of movie I normally like). I expected better from the Grindhouse concept (which was good in theory).

Had a bootleg copy on DVD...
In my mind the best part was Quentin Tarantino's mock movie trailers at the beginning!

I've seen Deathproof and apart from some good action scenes it's pretty crappy.

It's basically a chick flick complete with tedious dialog -I couldn't wait for the car scenes.

The big accident scene is pretty shocking.

The fake trailers...

Machete - written and directed by Robert Rodriguez

Werewolf Women of the SS - written and directed by Rob Zombie

Don't - written and directed by Edgar Wright

Thanksgiving - directed by Eli Roth, written by Eli Roth and Jeff Rendell

The fake trailers did in five minutes what the two films collectively took over three hours to do...
