RIP BRIAN BENNETT

he was the host of AA's midnight-dawn show during the week and filled in for Bob Francis recently when Bob was away with his broken leg.

apparently died in his sleep.

A good host who was knowledgable on most topics and very interesting to listen too.

A lot better then some of the new ones coming through.

Just heard the very sad news.

I've gradually been listening to 5aa online more often and always enjoyed his shows.

RIP Brian.

THE Adelaide radio world is in shock with the sudden death of FIVEaa presenter Brian Bennett.

The 60-year-old died in his sleep on Sunday morning

It is believed that he may have suffered complications from a heart condition.

Bennett had been on-air from midnight to dawn for the past three years at FIVEaa and had built up a strong following. In recent weeks he filled in Bob Francis from 8pm until midnight.

FIVEaa general manager Paul Bartlett said all staff at the station were shocked and saddened by his passing.

"Brian was one of those genuine nice guys in the industry and a highly valued member of the FIVEaa team,'' Mr Bartlett said.

"Our thoughts are now with his family at this sad time.

"And based on the many emails and phone calls to the station since hearing the news, on behalf of many of our listeners."

Brian had a long career in Adelaide radio having worked for many years at 5DN and 5AD.

Very sad news, only 60 years of age, treated everyone who called him with respect, a gentleman who will be missed.
