Thanks for the heads up!
Have read some bits and pieces, sounds like some great episodes in this series.

Unfortunatley I missed last nights episode. It had been billed in the paper as the best episode ever. Did it live up to the hype?
I've just started reading Richard Hammond's book where he writes about his jet car crash and his subsequent recovery from serious head injuries/brain damage. Only about a 1/4 of the way through but will give a brief review when finished.
Has there been any news on the Australian version and who might be hosting it? Dangerous territory trying to replicate a show as good as the original...

There were no studio sessions on last nights show (although I tuned in about 3 minutes late, I assume there was no studio session prior to that).
James & Jeremy travelled to the North pole in a tricked out Hilux (hand-made tires that cost £2500 each!), while Hammond travelled with a guide on a dog sled.
Was a terrific episode, with some lighter moments (Jeremy driving off with James still sitting on the portaloo attached to the back of the car) and some quite serious moments, such as when they were perilously close to the shore and fearing that the ice beneath would give way.
Hammond looked truely shattered when he got the call to say the other 2 had arrived first, while James ate his spam to celebrate their victory (spam that Jeremy had blasted with a shotgun at one point out of frustration).
A great show, certainly one of the best - my brief description no doubt has done it no justice whatsoever.
Can't wait for next week.

Have you guys had the second part of the amphibious vehicle challenge yet. The first part was when they converted a soft top Triumph, a camper van and a pick-up truck IIRC and tried to get across a lake. Part two takes it a step further. The funniest episodes ever imho. If it hasn't reached you yet I think your in for a treat

Slightly off topic....if any of you don't like Jezza (unlikely) then this might make you smile...lucky it was only £500

Haven't had part 2 yet, part of the season just commencing here I believe.
Part 1 was some of the funniest television I have ever seen - chuckling now just thinking about it.

Yep, different from a normal episode, no where near as many laughs but enthralling stuff. Great TV.

It certainly was great TV. I think that the thing that made it so good was the fact that they were the first people ever to drive a car to the "magnetic" north pole! Excellent feat, although they did have two other cars with them - containing camera crew, producers and an SAS soldier.

So far my favourite episode would be the one where they created the 'stretched' limos. May's effort was hilarious and Clarkson's effort was ridiculously hilarious (particularly the way the passenger reached the back of the vehicle).

Yeah, Part two had me in hysterics. Those blokes take comedy to a new level each show.
Can't remember if it's the latest series which hasonly started in Aus, but have you blokes seen the episode where the boys have to buy a British made car and pit one against the other culminating in doing laps of their track with each car filled with water? Funny, funny stuff.
Every time I see Clarkson, May or Hammond, I crack a smile. You gotta love May calling everyone a 'Pillock'!

To be honest I don't think they have made a bad challenge. I'm no petrolhead...never even owned a car...but I love their humour.
Other favourites include the road trip they did to New Orleans and the one they did in Africa where the Hamster fell in love with Oliver (I think that was the name)

Won't say more on those...wouldn't want to spoil it if you guys haven't seen them yet.

Yeah, the petrol station at New Orleans was hilarious!
I missed the Africa challenge and have been hanging to see it on replay, may have to download that one.
Agree too, that they're yet to produce a bad challenge. They've even had my mum in fits, especially with the egg in the collander test!
Just remembered too, the episode where Hamster drives the Renault F1 car is brilliant. Watch out for it fellas!

Tonights episode is the one where Hammond crashes the rocket car and uses his face as a grader.

the last 20 minutes was very interesting TV, Hamster to me looked thinner and like he was still in shock, was pretty quiet.
I read somewhere a few months ago that his eyeballs filled up with dirt during the crash.

That was nasty - his head would have been underground at one point.
Anyone else notice the casting call at the end, calling for applications to host the Australian version?
