Caught this the other day - great flick.

Probably Ron Howard's best.

Ironic then that it will probably be ignored come Oscar time.

And what can you say about Russ?

First class tool and actor.

Agreed Magpies Power, it's a very good film.
Maybe it will get some attention at the Oscars, same as the last time Ron Howard and Russel Crowe teamed up with each other in "A Beautiful Mind".
What I like about these two films is the way Howard draws connections between what is happening in the character's mind and what they are experiencing in reality. Adds so much more gravity to the story line. I saw this film with Mrs Risingblues on a plane flight back to Japan from Canada recently. It is rare for her to cry during a film but the tears were streaming out of her eyes at points in the film. Much to her embarrassment as we were seated in the emergency exit row, and people were always standing in the free space to stretch their legs, and as we had to look upward at the common TV, everyone could see the emotion on her face.
Excellent performance by Russ.

Yep - it definitely pulls at the heartstrings.
