Watched "The Shape Of Things" on Saturday night and really enjoyed it, then again I'd watch Rachel Wiesz mow the lawn all day and find it enjoyable.

Also watched "Miss March" which is a pretty stupid comedy (but had some parts that cracked me up) and "Adventureland" which was ok enough (had never seen Kristen Stewart in film before and she was pretty easy to watch also)

Dead Poet's Society.

Is an old one, but the last scene in the classroom is still the most awesome thing I have ever seen.

"O Captain, My Captain."

Bah.

Worst Movie Ever.

The premise is completely unbelievable. Consider this: A class full of pubescent sexually-repressed young males is encouraged by their teacher to "sieze the day".

So they organise clandestine meetings and read effing poetry?!?

There's not a single teenage male on the planet who would do that in preference to swilling beer, smoking fags and leafing through nudie books, no matter how hard Robin Williams pressed his case for the chaste alternative.

Rant over.

Watched Tomorrow When The War Began last night. Having read the books, i think it does a goof job keeping to the original story. They've added things like mobile phones and laptops to bring it up to today technology wise.

The only thing that disappointed me was that i didn t know that the movie only covers the first book...and there will most likely be a movie for each book. The way this one ends is pretty anti-climactic..but other than that a really good movie.

I was a bit disappointed with this, I think it would've been better if they showed what happened during the night, nevertheless there's some classic moments in it. Alan makes the movie IMO.

Love it!
Classic lines:
Water is for cowards. Water makes you weak. Water is for washing blood off that uniform and you don't get no blood on my uniform, boy you must be out of your mind! We will do up-downs until Blue is no longer tired or thirsty.

I don't scratch my head unless it itches and I don't dance unless I hear some music. I will not be intimidated. That's just the way it is.

And of course, this classic:
Petey Jones: [has hand raised for a high-five and is smiling]
Coach Boone: Put your hand down.
[Petey does as told]
Coach Boone: You're smiling.
Petey Jones: Yes.
Coach Boone: Yes, sir. Why are you smiling?
Petey Jones: 'Cause I love football. Football is fun.
Coach Boone: Fun, sir? It's fun?
Petey Jones: Yes.
Coach Boone: You sure?
Petey Jones: I think...
Coach Boone: Now you're thinkin'. First you smile, then you thinkin'. You think football is still fun?
Petey Jones: Uh, yes.
Coach Boone: Sir.
Petey Jones: Yes- no, sir.
Coach Boone: No?
Petey Jones: Um, it was fun.
Coach Boone: Not anymore though, is it? *Is* it?
Petey Jones: Not right now, no.
Coach Boone: No, it's not fun anymore. Not even a little bit.
Petey Jones: Uh... no.
Coach Boone: Make up your mind. Think since you're thinking. Go on, think. Is it fun?
Petey Jones: No, sir.
Coach Boone: No? Absolutely not?
Petey Jones: Zero fun, sir.
Coach Boone: [addresses team] All right, listen up! I'm Coach Boone. I'm gonna tell you about how much... *fun* you're gonna have this season.

Screened on ABC2 the other night.

Funny and heartfelt.

Filmmakers track down the legendary Jack Rebney.

Whatever Works
Written and directed by Woody Allen
Starring Larry David, Rachel Evan Wood, Patricia Clarkson.

Pleasantly surprised.

Even if Woody does kill some scenes by overwriting.

And not getting out of them earlier...

Watched a film called "Defiance" the other night, based on a true story of 3 brothers who helped shelter and protect a heap of Jewish civilians from Zee Germans, in a Belarussian forest.

Daniel Craig and the very underrated Liev Schreiber starred .. Really enjoyed it.

Beautiful Kate

Frustrating.

Interesting story badly told.

Ponderous and pretentious, at times meanders into undergrad uni film territory.
