Correct, do yourself a favour and have a look around the internet for their video, not a bad job for a home movie.

Serious...come on man PM me will ya

I don't have the link any more, got sent it by a mate back when the series started.
Will have a search for it again tonight when im not on the work computer.

If you try and find it yourself, as it was Pre-amazing race, don't use any of those search terms or anything like that. I got a feeling it was listed under sam's last name (Schoers).

Happy Hunting.

Been a huge fan of the series...until last night.

Time penalties which they just randomly make up to try and keep teams alive and the episode interesting is disgusting. I'm watching for the best teams + the fairest race, not some rubbish, pathetic time penalties.

i thought it made things more interesting... missus told me last night they do the same thing in the american version...

i hope the father son team win now... the surfer guys are starting to give me the sh*ts! however if the blondes win there's every chance they may make out when they win... i just dont want the surfers to win...

this is my 1st ever amazing race season and ive loved it...

They have penalties of course, but not random, made up little 10- minute penalties. The standard penalty for something the father and son did was 30 minutes, NOT 10!!

Yeah, it's always been a penalty for buying the wrong class tickets or using private transport, but they have always been 30mins (or go back and re-do that leg) and have always been served at the end of the stage, not mid way through.

The only team I don't want to win is Jeff and Luke.

Thoughts on the final leg?

I recon there were a few too many "luck" elements in it. The big wheel and the doors at the gaol were both down to luck and didn't allow the best racers to come to the front.
Sure, the whole series has elements of luck, but when it comes to the end of the race I'd like to see the luck side of things take a smaller role.

The contestants flag knowledge was a disgrace.

in the american series early on im sure they put up on the screen time frames - it would be nice to know how far in front or behind people are

i guess some people were that far in front or behind that it wouldve made for boring tv knowing half way through the show they were going to win or lose a particular leg

I was sitting through the flag challenge thinking they all three teams were tanking. Surely they couldn't have been that bad at it.

FWIW, they were all there at the same time, the surfers got it first and deserved to win I thought. Especially since the models had such a huge advantage with the race finishing in Perth.

I think that was only in extreme cases. For the final 3 in series 1, there was a 24 hour gap between the first two teams (Rob/Brennan and Frank/Margarita) and the third team (Bill/Joe ' Team Guido'), a lead that had developed over the couple of legs prior in China, and the time difference for Team Guido was noted.

There was also a later series where the gap between the first and last team was about 15 hours (might have been the All Stars series), so they showed the first couple of teams leaving on the next leg before the later teams checked in to the Pit Stop.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

I can't understand why the father/son would choose the stairs. They persevered with it well, but it seemed pretty obvious it was the far more tiring/demanding option, as well as time-consuming. Perhaps one had a massive fear of heights? Still, that choice didn't matter in the end.

Overall, I think channel 7 did a great job with this show. They didn't butcher it, and they really took a lot of effort to put in high quality production, good locations and (generally) good race design. They allowed racers to (mostly) move along on their merits without a huge amount of artificial bunching (i.e. weird "opening times" etc). I was pleasantly surprised to see the racers skill/time mean they could/had to take different planes to Perth - in the American version they always seem to make 100% sure all racers get on the same plane for the final destination.

Had to quote this. I completely agree, it would've been soooo easy for them to ensure all 3 teams caught the same flight, but the fact that it didn't happen and they didn't rig it speaks volumes. Really great series, the finale wasn't anything amazing but it was another very good ep and I'm glad the surfers won.

I agree with an above comment about there being a bit too much 'luck' tasks for the finale, that's a big part of the show sure, but don't like seeing it play such a massive part in deciding the winner. And the teams knowledge of the flags was cringeworthy!!
