I've just been catching up on a few videos, and I've managed to find some great ones:

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - excellent acting with a great script and interesting use of chronology
Burn After Reading - A fun way to spend a couple of hours with some good plot twists along the way
The Reader - looking at World War Two events in an unusual way, this movie is powerful and a little different to most

Has anyone here seen Paranormal Activity? I'm heading to town for a few days tomorrow and might check it out if it's any good.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Yes, I agree with that. It is a highly enjoyable movie that is very topical, while being humourous and touching at the same time. Great to see a 'mature' movie of such high standard i.e. it's not sci-fi big budget, or action car chases etc, just a great story that is well-scripted.

It's had mixed reviews, but that quite often happens with movies based around sport. I think many movie reviewers don't get into sport and therefore don't understand the emotions that can be associated with it.

I'm pretty keen to see it, Clint Eastwood has served up some pretty good stuff since turning his hand to directing.

Finally saw Beale Gardens on DVD. Brilliant performances by Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore.

Know I'm in the minority but...

Found this film completely underwhelming.

Mediocre film with pretensions of greatness.

Jason Reitman covered similar ground far more effectively in Thankyou For Smoking.

Saw Sherlock Holmes last night and it was punchy, humorous, clever and on the whole very entertaining. Left very open ended for a sequel too.

I went and saw it yesterday.
Completely agree 'Ginge', bloody good romp. They say Charlie Sheen just plays himself in
2 & a half men, you know, a boozey womaniser, but in the beginning of Sherlock Holmes, it looks
like Robert Downey Jnr is doing much the same thing. A down and out, substance abusing, decrepit,
layabout. But like Downey, Sherlock comes good and cleans up his act.
Weren't the background scenes of old London fantastic ?
I'll certainly be lining up for any sequels !

Yea, loved the London scenery, particularly as I'll be getting a taste of the real thing in a few months time!

Guy Richie is a very good director, I've only really known him has Mr Madonna but it seems he makes a good flick too!
