Saw Defiance on the weekend. A decent movie without being outstanding, relies on the 'true story' impact, which, when you think about it, was pretty amazing. Basically a tale of brotherhood and the unyielding nature of human spirit.

I dunno whether I was just tired when I tried to watch it, but I fell asleep twice during the movie and couldn't get into it.

One i definately recommend is Clint Eastwood's Gran Turino brilliant brilliant brilliant

Zac and Miri make a porno had a couple of hilarious moments but the half an hour gaps between them dragged on IMHO.

I guess it's a movie. Just finished Iron Maiden : Flight 666. Great "on the road, behind the scenes" doco. Highly recommend.

Has to be a rare thing when your audience gets younger over the years.

Let the Right One In is a great Swedish vampire flick.

Though not the masterpiece many critics claim.

A smart horror like The Exorcist.

With some equally stunning and unsettling scenes...

Yep. Was different to what I was expecting, but was very good. Clint didn't even have to act the grumpy old prick.

I agree it is a good picture. My Vietnam Vet mate told me they showed them that movie in basic training to illustrate the value of discipline and good military order. However I did read somewhere the suggestion that the reports on the defence of Rorke's Drift and the subsequent decorations were something of a beat up to distract the public and save some face after the British Army had a Regiment massacred by "savages" at Isandwana(sp). I hope it was not so as it is an epic tale............Men of Harlech come to Glory, this will ever be your Story...

they used to show this at Kapooka for the army recruits, I saw it when I went through in the early 80's, certainly an eye opener to a young impressionable 17 year old, and when some of your instructors were vietnam vets, you listened
