I liked it. I agree it's not your "run of the mill" Hollywood thriller, but it is a David Cronenberg film.

Watched 'The Town' last night was about a group of 4 bank robbers.

Story line was unique and had enough to keep me interested BUT the action and direction of the movie was a tad weak.

Also imho the characters didnt really capture you the way it felt it was intended a tad awkard.

Wouldnt say it was a 'worse' movie but didnt really enjoy it myself.

Inglorious Basterds and District 9 were great. Anchorman = gold, Tropic Thunder was good, just a bit of a let down considering the cast really.
Some good movies in there, really don't deserve to be in this thread.

Did anyone understand the ending of 'No Country For Old Men'?
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Tommy Lee Jone's character decides it is better for him to let the killer go, rather than risking his life capturing him.

Thats how I took it, but there's several different theories, with many deciding Tommy Lee was the one who ended up with the loot

The Omega Man (1971)

Earlier take on "I am Legend", where Charlton Heston is a lone survivor after bio-warfare kills most of the population, but some survive as weird albino-like people.
Badly dated and not particularly well made in the first place with a strange score.

I picked a rom-com movie that I thought would appeal to Mrs Hondo and it was terrible ... "The Good Guy"

Problems:

- bad acting
- bad casting (the actor for the "good guy" was this buff, tall, dark and handsome type but we were meant to believe had problems picking up women and was into book clubs. Conversely the actor the sleazy womaniser looked more like the pickup misfit)
- completely obvious ending

The one point of interest was 80s brat packer Andrew McCarthy in a supporting role.
In between signatures .....
