Not a particularly new film...1995... but one I thought was good is Dead Man.

Might not be easy to get hold of...I have it on an aging video and haven't been able to find it on dvd...but I reckon it's worth the effort to get if you like films that are a bit different. It's an odd little movie with some great humour in it...Iggy Pop as "Sally" the cross-dressing fur trader is hillarious imho.

*edit* forget the 'can't get on dvd' bit...just rechecked Amazon and bugger me it's there :D ...gone shopping \:D/

Very funny film.

A rare Jim Jarmusch film that 'comes together'.

Where have you been looking, JAS?

It's in just about every DVD store!

Wasn't on Amazon's site last year...I've had it on their email notification thingy for about 5 years now so obviously that doesn't work. My nearest DVD store is a small branch of HMV about 70 miles away...check whenever I'm there (it's one of a few I'm looking out for) but they've not had it :(

The Devil at Your Heels

Doco about daredevil Ken Carter - 'The Mad Canadian'.

Inspired The Late Show's 'S**t Scared' sketches...

I liked 12 Monkeys although it's not a genre I watch much. Probably depends what on what sub-genre you want too, for example do you want it to be heavy on the sci-fi or something more realistic?

Had a look on Wiki and found this which covers films, books, music, games ...you name it, it seems to have the lot listed...

The Road comes out sometime this year, post apocalyptic, based on the novel by Cormac McCarthy which came out a couple of years ago, he is the same fella that wrote No Country For Old Men
I quite enjoyed The Road, quite a good read, I think the movie has Viggo Mortensen in it and it is directed by the same guy that directed The Proposition and Ghosts of the Civil Dead

speaking of good movies, get a hold of Ghosts of the Civil Dead, quite a graphic prison movie, has Nick Cave in it

Went and saw The Watchmen... Raises a couple of interesting points about humanity at the end but seriously, what the **** was the other two hours about? Really wish I went and saw Mall Cop instead.
