Can't believe no-one's mentioned He Died With A Felaffel In His Hand!
or Strictly Ballroom.
Just saw it recently- very strange & kitschy, as are most Aussie films!

My top 3 in no order-
Malcolm
Chopper
Blue Murder (despite being a mini-series)

Starring Garry McDonald.

A great little film.

LOL- Mrs G has a cameo role in that movie. Watch the first 10 or so minutes- the canteen scene. When Brian Vriends is chucking the food everywhere a very little (approx 5 years old) Mrs G is at the front watching. Then, when the kids all chase the cop car that takes him away, she loses her shoe chasing the car, and has to go back and slip it on*

Filmed at Black Forest Primary School for those who are interested...

The Castle (encapsulates the Australain psyche and humour)
The Dish (the EJ Special Stationwagon - in need of a new clutch after she left it outside the Dish)
The Big Steal (Daniel our son)
The Crocodile Dundee (nice one skippy and for me personally having visited most of the spots in Kakadu where they filmed it)
The Club (so real it ain't funny when it c omes to footy club politics)
The MAn From Snowy River (the cinematography and the music score)
