I finished watching John Wick 3 last night therefore finishing the whole trilogy and I think it's well placed it in this topic.
I liked the first one, found the second a bit boring and harder to get into as it dragged on a bit and whilst the action in the third movie was entertaining it was ridiculous and became comical as the movie went on.

4th movie coming out in a couple years.

I got the hint there would be after the way the third one ended, my question is how much more ridiculous can the action get?! Haha.

Just watch the fast and the furious franchise movies, what are they up to? 9? Haha and more and more ridiculous each movie.

Godzilla vs Kong, an ideal movie for this topic. I liked it but certainly didn't love it.

I saw A Quiet Place Part 2 last Sunday and then The Conjuring 3 last night and I'd put both in the category.

A Quiet place part 2 continues on from the first movie and leaves the plot open for a third, it had some solid action and some tense moments and we got to see more of and learn about the creatures that have destroyed the US.

The Conjuring 3 was a better movie IMO, more tense/creepy moments and the main antagonists role surprised me a bit and they were very creepy. I don't think it's as good as the second Conjuring film. I enjoy the spin the Conjuring series put on these 'real life' cases.

I watched 'Trial by Fire' last night on Netflix.. didn't mind it, started out as similar movies along the same vein, all along you (think) can see how it's going to play out as per normal movies.. but the ending got me - enough to push it up to a good movie rating.

For a 3 hour movie it seemed rushed at the end, I would've liked to have seen more of the Priscilla/Lisa-Marie times.

Tom Hanks was brilliant in his role as unlikeable character.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

I succumbed to the hype surrounding this one and watched it on Amazon Prime last night.

Thought it had a lot in common with The Matrix and also Sense8. Also it had a bit in common with Inception, insofar as it was very confusing. A very weird film. Watchable, even enjoyable, but I don't understand all the hype.

Amazon Prime peeve: The accent of Waymond was strong enough that I needed to turn on the subtitles. However the characters rapidly swap between English and Chinese, and the hardwired in-film English subtitles are overwritten by Amazon Prime subtitles reading "speaking in Mandarin" - rendering them unreadable.

I thought the actor playing Waymond did a Sterling job, despite his accent. Would be deserving of an Oscar. In a perfect world, one of those two rocks might also have gotten a nomination :)
