Dirty Harry. The scene where Harry has shot the killer in the middle of the football field and proceeds to torture him to find out where he has hidden the girl. The camera backs away to disturbing music....

Dogs In Space. The "trip" scene had by Saskia Post's character as she dies of a heroin overdose, set to Iggy Pop's "The Endless Sea".

The Last Temptation Of Christ. The scene where Jesus' "guardian angel" appears, takes him down from the cross and leads him to the life he desired, the life of a normal man. This one reduces me to tears every time - no kidding.

Excalibur. The scene where Arthur, having learned the secret of the Grail (The king is the land), rallies his men and rides into battle against Mordred's forces. As they ride to the battle the land is reborn around them, barren plants spontaneously bursting into flower. All while that fanfare from Orff's 'Carmina Burana' plays.

The Life Of Brian. "What's so funny about Biggus Dickus? I have a gweat fwiend in Wome called Biggus Dickus"

Caddyshack. DOODY! DOODY!

Bad Boy Bubby. Plenty of great scenes here... but I'll nominate the one where Bubby finally emerges from his home, removes the gas mask, chuckles as he realises that he can breathe the air after all, and wanders off into the world.

Could think of plenty more, but that'll do for now.

Gallipoli: What are you legs? steel springs. What are they going to do? Hurl me down the track. How fast can you run run? Fast as a leopard...

Life of Brian, "So apart from sanitation, law and order, health and the aquaducts, what have the Romans done for us..."

Caddyshack (so many to mention) "Nice boy, nice boy know I know why Tigers eat their young," "Hey judge double or nothing? "here is the cinderalla story at Augusta, hes got a two iron..." "So Llama how about something for the trouble? "When you die you shall receive total consciousness so I've got that going for me...." So Danny you've ever done drugs"

Chariots of Fire, the scene in Keynes College where all the names of the alumni that haven't come back from "The Great War"... "I run to win!" "Overstriding the death of the sprinter"

Bull Durham, ".....and I believe in long slow deep wet kisses that last for three days....Goodnight" "Oh My, wait Crash...."
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The final scene in Gallipoli haunted me badly as a youngster, it still does when I think about it.

The catch cry from "Good Morning Vietnam" became quite renowned as did the "I would not hesitate" speech between De Niro and Pacino in "Heat".

"Here's Johnny" is probably another classic catchphrase (even though I still haven't seen the movie)

One of my fave moofies, Drugstore Cowboy and the scene in the car where Bob is booting up after they've just ripped off the chemist. "Everything was grand then, your worst enemy wasn't so bad, the ants in the grass were just doing their thing, everything took on the rosy hue of unlimited success. You could do no wrong and as long as it lasted, life was beautiful", after which he snaps out of his thirty seconds of satisfaction.

Also the scene where they find Nadine dead from a massive overdose, and the reality of their lives suddenly hits them.

Trainspotting: When Renton steals the money at the end and walks out of the hotel room, revealing that for all of their grand claims of friendship and loyalty and for all of the situations they have experienced together there really is no loyalty among criminals (or junkies).

Jamie Lee's mum Janet Leigh in that shower scene in Psycho.

...and

MANDY:
Well, Brian,... your father isn't Mr. Cohen.
BRIAN:
I never thought he was.
MANDY:
Now, none of your cheek! He was a Roman, Brian. He was a centurion in the Roman army.
BRIAN:
You mean... you were raped?
MANDY:
Well, at first, yes.
BRIAN:
Who was it?
MANDY:
Heh. Nortius Maximus his name was. Hmm. Promised me the known world he did. I was to be taken to Rome, House by the Forum. Slaves. Asses' milk. As much gold as I could eat.
Then, he, having his way with me had... voom! Like a rat out of an aqueduct.

As a kid, remember most of those movies for particular reasons

Space - Star Wars. Opening shot of the spaceship being pursued by the star cruiser. Just stunning when you were 11 years old and never seen a film like it.

Action - Jaws. the first time you heard the music in the cinema.Scared silly and didn't go in the water past knee height for years

Horror - Alien. When John Hurt's stomach exploded

Comedy - Blues Brothers. 'This is a really great mall' and the car chase into Chicago

War - Great Escape. Steve McQueen on the motorbike, and the repeat scene of him chucking his baseball against the cooler wall.

Teenage - Ferris Bueller's day off. Where to start? but love, 'Rooney, you're an a..hole'
Roger Woodcock -- 602 goals from a forward flank makes you a legend.
